The booking system allows you to choose a time slot on the day you'd like.
It will then take you to a payment portal to complete your booking.
You'll receive a confirmation email about your booking and will (fairly soon after) receive a necessary Health & Consent Form to be completed before your appointment.
Upon your arrival, we'll sit down together and have a discussion.
If this is your initial appointment, it will likely take about 10 minutes as I review the details you've provided in your form, and we decide how to maximize the effectiveness of our session.
We will probably assess your 'Range of Movement' to identify any areas of discomfort.
This will help me determine the appropriate techniques to employ and how to work through passive and active movements to help you regain your comfort.
If you're a returning client, we'll spend a few minutes talking about your progress, any new concerns or niggles you might have, maintenance massage and advancements in strengthening or how I can simply bring you a holistic relaxation session.
Ideally you should arrive just a few minutes before your appointment.
I allow a 15 minute gap between appointments, which is essential for changing linens/towels, cleaning and note-taking between clients.
If you see the 'Treatment In Progress' sign in place - please don't knock yet.
Get in touch, to let me know if you think you'll need to cancel - I currently operate a 100% refund policy, though would always prefer if we can find an alternative day/time to accommodate you (frequent cancellations will incur a change to this policy).
Please let me know if you are unwell or have a nasty cold. Everyone gets unwell sometimes, but I'd prefer you to reschedule your appointment to a time when you're feeling better, and obviously would prefer not to catch a bug and pass it on to others!
No matter what you choose to wear, you'll be under a towel/blanket during your massage for modesty and warmth.
For a full body massage, underwear is definitely a requirement.
Ladies - a sports bra is not ideal for a functional back massage I'm afraid, a normal bra can be unhooked.
If your massage will be primarily working with your lower body, sports shorts are recommended, as they will allow for greater movement variability - especially for sports stretches.
A curtain is pulled across when you're preparing - and I'll be washing/warming my hands.
I offer different 'mediums' - a lightweight hypo-allergenic lotion, Songbird Liqui-wax or Neals Yard Remedies organic and cruelty-free oils (fragrance-free or lightly fragranced) - link to purchase Neals Yard Products
I never use excessive amount of oils, just the right amount for both glide and grip/friction.
I have towelling hairbands to keep longer hair away.
Pain is not the goal - massage should not hurt.
The primary purpose of a massage is to relax and relieve tension, not to inflict pain.
In fact, if you are uncomfortable or tensing during a massage, this makes the beneficial effects more difficult to achieve,
I will ask you during the treatment if the pressure is appropriate for you, I will happily adjust my techniques to accommodate.
Occasionally, the following day, techniques may possibly result in a little soreness, similar to that of a workout. In general, however, you should not have pain during or after your massage.
There is free parking on-site, and security lighting outside during the evenings.
I have a WC, but no showering facilities.
Unfortunately I don't have wheelchair accessibility, or an electric massage couch.
If you're bringing a chaperone, they're welcome to be present in the treatment room - it's a good sized room, but without a separate waiting area for friends/partners.
The decision is completely up to you.
I won't resort to sales tactics.
While some view massage as an occasional luxury or only when experiencing discomfort or niggles, I believe it serves as an excellent method to keep your body functioning well and to support your happiness and health in both daily activities and physical pursuits - in essence - more of a standard practice than a treat!
Loyalty cards are available - have 5 sessions and your 6th is free.
Packages will be available later in the summer of '25.
